Friggatriskaideckaphobia

It's another Friday the thirteenth. Did you have your fair share of bad luck today?

How about that title up there? It is one of two words that are defined as the "morbid fear of Friday the 13th." The other? You asked for it:

Paraskavedekatriaphobia !
The $20 word used as the title, refers to Frigg, an acient Scandinavian fertility and love goddess. The early Christians called Frigg a witch, and referred to Friday as the 'witches' Sabbath.

Many people tend to incorrectly use the word triskaidekaphobia when discussing the fear of Friday the 13th. Triskaidekaphobia, however, is the fear of the number 13 itself.

IF - YOUR PARTNER WAS AWAITING YOU,
WITH OPEN ARMS AND KISSES?

SO, WHERE WOULD YOU BE?

HELLOOooo!!!!!!!!!

YOU'D BE IN THE WRONG FRICKING HOUSE !

Hi Mike, I'll bet that second entry on the born on Friday the 13th;
Sir Joh Bjelke-Petersen January 13, 1911
would have confused a few people, Sir Joh was the longest serving Premier of Queensland Australia (19 years) I attended his State funeral service on May 3rd 2005

Count me among the confused, Peter. I had no idea who this person was. (The same holds true for others on the two lists.)

I intend to look them all up out of curiosity - sometime.

I love Friday the 13ths. I've decreed that they shall be my Lucky Days. So far, so good.:)

thanks to you and Earl.

I have been lurking lately because I wasn't in the mood to make any comments. There were days I didn't even check in. However, I will try to do better in the future. I do love the stuff you write. I even like the stuff you "steal". You are welcome to "borrow" anything of mine that may be of value. I know you will make the proper citation.
