It wasn't a bad thing. No, not at all! It was great! I would not have complained if I'd been run through a wringer!
(To the non baby-boomers out there, a wringer is a set of rollers on the old washing machines. The clothing would be run between the rollers to be squeezed, or wrung, to remove the excess water before the clothes were hung on a line to dry. This was before the advent of the dryer.)
Finally, at long last, that monster storm that has been terrorizing most of the country was out to sea. The phenomenon that next greeted us was, to say the least, a miraculous event. A strange bright heat-emanating disk emerged from behind the clouds!
For the first time in nearly a week - I didn't get soaked to the bone! Not once did I have to turn on the windshield wipers or the defogger.
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun,Do I dare think about finally putting away the snow shovels and the bag of ice melt? Can I finally break out the lighter clothing? Is it safe to hang the coats in the back of the closet and move the jackets to the forefront?
And I say it's all right.
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes......
Praise the Lord and pass the tan lotion!

Funny, but we're in the middle of the worst drought in 100 years down here, and would KILL for some of your rain and snow. *cries*
The grass is always greener!
Hey there, enjoy the sun, enjoy your summer.. oh you were right - pun on the tan lotion.
Have a nice weekend.
Steph - So true! When it comes to weather, as well as our health - there is always someone worse off than us.
Thanks, Pink Ginger - and a nice weekend to you too!
Somehow, I think we really can put the coats away now and pass the tan lotion. It's about time.
SJ - it was in the 70s today. I'll believe it when I see it (or feel it) - but it's forecast to hit the 80s on Sunday!
