The Uniform Song

As I was watching the rain deluge, I couldn't help but to let that song, The Unicorn Song by the Irish Rovers course through my brain. Behind me on television a foreign reporter was relating the news of the latest American soldier to die from a road-side bomb.
....I realize that with that somber report, it may appear that the pictures above and my parody of that song below, make me out to be insensitive. I assure you, I am not. I served my country during Vietnam in a war as needless and as painful to America as this one.
....I'm too old to fight with a gun now, but I can be mighty handy with the printed word. That word is my weapon.

The Uniform Song
A long time ago, when the Earth was at peace,
There was more kinds of immigrants than you've ever seen.
They'd run around free while the Earth was still lush,
But they didn't count on George W. Bush.
....There was them Brazilians and oppressed Vietnamese,
....Some lucky Irishmen and some Japanese,
....Some French and Slavs and Latvians,
....But when their names they forge, The bravest had to fear our George.
Lord Dubya seen some sinning and it gave Him pain,
And He says, "With bombs, I'm going to make it rain."
He says, "Hey, Rumsfeld, I'll tell you what to do for me,
Build me a fighting Army."
....And take some of those
....Green Appalachians and red-necked Oakies,
....Some strong-backed Texans and some Tennessees,
....Some Utes and Aleuts and Montanans,
....And sure as they're born, those Iraqis won't forget my warrin'."
Old Rumsfeld was there to answer the call,
He finshed making the Army and soon the bombs started to fall.
He marched the soldiers two by two
And he called out as they went through...
...."Hey Dubya,
....I got some green Appalachians and red-necked Oakies,
....Some strong-backed Texans and some Tennessees,
....Some Utes and Aleuts and Montanans
....But Dubya, you're going to be forlorn
....I can't find no WMDs they been storin."
So Dubya lied to the press under oath sworn,
Saying, "The WMDs the Iraqis are stalling,
Osama's playing silly games, killing and slashing while bombs are falling.
Oh, let them be warned..."
...."Here's more in uniform...
....Some green Appalachians and red-necked Oakies,
....Some strong-backed Texans and some Tennessees,
....Some Utes and Aleuts and Montanans
....We'll hit till their asses are sore,
....America's no place to scorn."
Dubya will be moving on in about two years by the clock.
The Bushes will crawl and look up from under their rock,
And America will forget them, they'll sort of float away...
That's why no Bushes will ever be elected again after that day
....But what about...
....Those green Appalachians and red-necked Oakies,
....The strong-backed Texans and those Tennessees,
....And Utes and Aleuts and Montanans?
....Well just as sure as you're born,
....They'll come home without uniforms.
Now you might think this is the end to the song,
But I'll have to tell you, Like Dubya, you're wrong.
You see Americans are voters, so when at the polls they push
Jeb, they'll make sure they never elect another Bush.
....They'll be coming home...
....Those green Appalachians and red-necked Oakies,
....The strong-backed Texans and those Tennessees,
....All the Utes and Aleuts and Montanans
....And sure as you're born ...
....You ain't going to see no uniforms!
May God bless and protect our troops!

Love this song; you have a gift, my friend.

And God please bless and protect our troops.

Can't believe that he still has a 29 percent approvable rating... 29 percent of the people around us are idiots! I'm more afraid of them then I am of the common criminal. {scary}

Okay, Mike, here's the deal: The GOP has Jeb Bush, the Dems have Hilary. For whom would you vote?

(Hoo boy, I am evil.)
