If You Can't Stand the Heat...

...Stay Out of the Bitchin'

There's an old adage that says: "If you can't stand the heat,
stay out of the kitchen."

Here in New England they say:
"If you can't stand the weather, wait a minute."

Friday, not unlike the rest of the week, was on the cool side and rainy. Such weather all but guarantees that I'll be mowing the lawn and trimming the hedges and shrubs this weekend - again.

Alas, the forecast for the weekend suggests that the yard duties will be performed under duress. Saturday will be hot and more summer-like with the temperatures in the lower 90s, an increase of 42 degrees over Friday. Sunday will be in the mid 90s. Oh joy, I get to return to work on Monday with the temps in the upper 90s. Then Tuesday will see the mercury approaching or exceeding 100 until showers arrive in the evening.

A heat wave is defined as three consecutive days with temperatures of 90 degrees or more. We will get a bonus of a 4th day before the thermometers back off.

The forecasts had me scrambling to pay a visit to my mechanic this morning. It seems I had all but forgotten that the air conditioner in my truck wasn't working! It had to be recharged. Twenty minutes and $70 later, I was watching the rolling numbers on the gas station pump stop at $32. Rounded to the nearest dollar, a hundred bucks had vanished from my hands into the hands of another and I hadn't even started work yet.

Oops! I'm failing to heed the advice of the title and subtitle of this posting ... I'm bitching.
Meanwhile in Clintonia...

I really liked this clever editorial cartoon which parodies a famous Andrew Wyeth painting.
In wishing Ted Kennedy a speedy recovery Hillary said to the ailing senator, "I think I have a secret admirer."

"I'm not surprised," replied Ted. "If I admired you, I'd sure keep it a secret."
With the possible exception of taking advantage of a photo-op and getting attention, I can't figure out why Hillary is waiting until tomorrow to officially end her run for the Democratic nomination.
Oh, that's why...
...And what was the point of referencing Bobby Kennedy anyway? Hmmm ...

Not unlike the undeniable "bouquet" left behind by a threatened skunk, I daresay that after her long overdue concession speech tomorrow, it will not be the last we hear of one Hillary Rodham Clinton.
I have a feeling that if Barack Obama were to be elected the next President, she (and Bubba) would be right there, highly visible ...
Don't be surprised if she still has some desperate moves to parlay. If you are 18 years of age or older, and want to see just how desperate she can become, check out
Hillary's Desperation.

I really love the Hillary bashing. Mind if I steal your cartoons?

Kenju,

Steal away. How do you think I got them?

I can believe her when she says she'll do anything to help the Democratic Party, as long as it helps her. Somebody throw her a sucker.....

I, for one want to make Hillary feel like a real woman as I have a pile of laundry that needs done. Remember, it takes a village idiot to believe her.

And I figure if you remember Joe Charboneau, it may be when he was playing for the Charleston Charlies after he became not so super Joe.
Thanks for visiting my blog.

Hoss,

You read her well, I think. What's good for the party comes after what's for her good.

Wixygrad,

As for doing the laundry, lord knows she has a large dirty pile of it.
