While I was reading
Peg's posting "It's Been A Long Time" of Sunday 9/4, Bang! Bang! Maxwell's Silver Hammer came crashing down upon my head.
I was struck with an idea! She noted that she tried to write her posting so that the reader would want to read it just to find out what the title is suggesting.
Now Hoss , by his own admission, sometimes uses a title that has nothing to with what he is writing.
Let me offer my idea for everyone to drive around the block, kick the tires and generally give some thought. We take one title and everyone who is interested writes his own blog using that same title! With all the different styles and thought processes out there, it could prove very interesting. I would be curious how different or how alike the resulting blogs would be.
Do you remember that parlor game where you have a number of people sitting in a row in chairs and one person tells a story to the person next to him/her, that person tells the next person, and so forth until the last person has been told the story? The differences between the first story and the last one when compared are a riot. Many times than not, the last one bears no resemblance to the original.
First everyone would submit a possible title. Perhaps these suggested titles would be posted to one person's comments page. Next, we could vote for our favorite title or rate them on a scale of 1 to 5.
Anyway, it was just an idea. What does everyone else think?
Who knows, maybe like the cartoon above, a classic will be posted and catch the eye of some movie producer. Can you say "It'll make a pile?"
(Speaking of challenges, has anybody tried to solve the puzzle, besides Tan Lucy in my post "A Man of Letters?" She is looking for the answer, but I hate to post the answer and spoil it for everyone else. )
