Staycation - Make That Vacation

The usual installment of "Butterfly Dreams" will be delayed a few days.

I'm off for the week until Tuesday, Sept. 7.  It was meant to be a stay-cation,  with no particular traveling plans.  Since it is the first week I've actually taken off in five years, I was looking forward to 10 days of some lazy R&R.

...But then we had an offer we couldn't refuse!

A friend gave us use of his time-share cottage in Boothbay Harbor in Maine.  We'll be here today, 8/29 until 9/2. He and his family will be staying here from the 3rd through the 6th of September for the upcoming Labor Day weekend.

The picture is the view from the screen-enclosed back porch of the small cottage.  The cool salt air is refreshing and invigorating.

It took me awhile to find  Wi-Fi access so I could post this on the IBM laptop.  I'm not comfortable using a laptop, so I don't know how much posting I will try to do between now and next Friday.

(On Word I will work on the story and plan to have the next installment up on Friday. )

After the 2 1/2 drive north, we found a cozy restaurant overlooking the harbor and enjoyed an excellent sea food dinner.  Tomorrow we'll hit the shops and do some sight-seeing.

I should have done this a long time ago!

Looks like a great place to unwind. And with that kind of view from the back porch, a great place to write as well. Give your next batch of crab legs an extra dip in the butter for me.

Enjoy yourself. You deserve it.

On our recent trip to California, I didn't take my computer. Being without for a week was an interesting experience. I did take my camera. You can see some of the photos at my blog, and they are linked on my FB page.

I look forward to seeing your photos. Take care and relax.

Enjoy every minute of your vacation. It's always good to get away and it's double good to spend time doing very little of anything. R and R is a favorite pastime of mine.

Have a terrific week. :)

It's a fantastic place to relax.

I have to pass on the crab legs - my stomach and crustaceans don't get along very well.

I'm afraid my wife aren't much for carrying or using cameras that much. We bought a cheap one up here and will copy them onto a disk at the local Walgreens when we get a chance.

I DO do R&R exceptionally well.

In that case, give your steak a double dip in the A-1 ROFL.

I go for the fried scallops or fried haddock.

In my circles, using A-1 sauce on a steak is an insult to the one who cooked it. It's like saying "your steak is lousy - I gotta hide the taste with this stuff."
